The rave culture in Iran and other middle eastern countries is a phenomenon that is very rarely thought of by those in western society who have so many options when it comes to raving and party culture in general.
German director, Susanna Regina Meures explores the underground dance music scene in Iran called “Raving Iran” which is set to have its UK premiere on April 27th.
The film aims to dig deep into the oppressive atmosphere and struggles faced by DJs Anoosh and Arash aka Blade & Beard in the Middle East.
The premiere will be held in Village Underground in Shoreditch, London and will include a live Q&A and an after party with a DJ set from Blade & Beard.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from Resident Advisor with all proceeds going to Amnesty International’s #FreeArtists campaign and UK homeless charity, Crisis.
